I love discovering secret places. Especially if they are in the forest. Especially if they are magical. Our school is on 46ish acres of forest, meadow, and creeks. Each morning my students and I take a walk through our wild woods. Every hole in a tree or the ground, every corner we find becomes a secret place, a possible portal to to another world.
My kids loved these places and, for reasons I don’t know, called them nibble holes.
I LOVE that name and all the names kids come up with. They are the best!
Totally awesome. Apparently a mute(?) Swan flew through a portal and ended up on Jocassee today!!
I miss Jocassee so very much.
Utterly beautiful! Those students are very fortunate to have a wise guide in you.
They often guide me. I am grateful to continually be reminded of the wonder of a child's heart.
